Ekta Kapoor was born on 7 June 1975 in Mumbai. She is the daughter of Jitendra and Shobha Kapoor. Her younger brother Tusshar Kapoor and father are both successful Bollywood actors. Ekta got her primary education from Bombay Art School. Then he completed the college at Matibai College.

She has created one but not many soap operas, television series and films. Her TV series Kavi Sas Bhai Kabhi Bahu Thi, Kahani Ghar Ghar Ki, "Kahin Kissi Rose", Kasuri Zindagi Kya, Pyaita Rita, Bad Abhayle Laga Hai and Jodha Akbar etc.

Ekta started producing Bollywood movies in 2001, after that she had success in films in 2003 and 2004, in the years that she produced many films, and besides the film, she also produces TV series. Ekta has also been given the best award for her films and TV serials.
